About The Position

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Cost Accountant to join our dynamic team. As a Cost Accountant at Tech Etch, you will play a crucial role in identifying and implementing solutions for improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing overall business processes. You will work with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and management, to implement changes and ensure alignment with business goals. SHIFT: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field is required
  • 5+ years of related financial experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are essential for identifying and addressing operational issues.
  • Demonstrated experience in applying standard costing methodologies within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in project management for managing operational improvement projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and ERP Systems to effectively manage and analyze data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed to work with cross-functional teams and present findings to management.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Create reports and forecasts using statistical modeling and data analysis to provide insights into operational performance.
  • Implement new processes, policies, and protocols, and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Monitor factory overhead rates and lead periodic cost‑rate reviews to ensure accurate financial reporting and operational alignment.
  • Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to understand manufacturing processes, workflows, and cost drivers across the shop floor.
  • Assessing scrap rates, and throughput metrics to assess operational performance and trends.
  • Maintain and update labor and overhead rates in the ERP system; partner with operations to ensure MOM and BOM accuracy.
  • Analyze and explain manufacturing variances—material usage, purchase price variance, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption—providing insights to plant leadership.
  • Track and evaluate financial performance of new products, product lines, or customer programs to support pricing and profitability decisions.
  • Use statistical modeling, trend analysis, and forecasting tools to guide decision‑making and strengthen operational discipline.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, procurement, and operations teams to evaluate financial impacts of design changes, engineering change orders, and sourcing decisions.
  • Translate complex financial information into actionable insights for non‑financial team members, including supervisors and production staff.
