As a Cost Accountant II at PTI Technologies in Oxnard, CA, you will work independently to maintain an effective cost accounting system in compliance with CAS, ASC 606, GAAP, and company policies. Your primary responsibilities will include managing month-end and quarter-end close processes related to inventory, cost of sales, and revenue recognition, along with preparing journal entries and reconciliations. You will lead the analysis of cost variances, maintain standard costs, and conduct inventory audits and cycle counts. Collaborating with the finance team, you'll prepare comprehensive reports, perform labor and overhead rate impact analyses, and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Additionally, you will provide support for internal and external audits, enforce SOX controls, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • three to five years of progressive accounting experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment
  • strong quantitative aptitude for detailed financial calculations, variance analysis, and reconciliations
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably Oracle, and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
  • ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to cross-functional stakeholders, both in written and verbal formats
  • demonstrated experience leading month-end close processes and understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles
