About The Position

Daifuku Airport America Corporation, a subsidiary of Daifuku North America and part of the world's largest material handling company, specializes in engineering, manufacturing, and servicing innovative automated materials handling systems for various industries, including airports, auto plants, and warehouses. The company is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join its team. This role reports to the Manager of Cost Accounting and is part of a cross-functional team, supporting forecasting, cost, and project accounting responsibilities.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of cost and US GAAP accounting principles
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel)

Analytical ability as it pertains to understanding and explaining manufacturing variances as well as other types of analysis

BS degree in accounting, finance or related field and / or equivalent experience in a cost accounting role in a manufacturing and /or Engineer-to-order environment

Experience with manufacturing environment a plus
Experience with SAP a plus

Responsibilities

Daily processing of contract orders and changes
Monthly review and forecasting of less complex projects and other short cycle orders
Maintain project budgets and revenue recognition in ERP systems
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures (JSOX)
Testing and implementation of special projects as required
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Meet regularly with Operations personnel to gage project financial performance
Publish various managerial accounting reports
Process improvement
