The Cost Accountant I is responsible for initiating and monitoring physical inventory and cycle counts to ensure accuracy, investigating variances, and resolving related issues. This role involves analyzing and reporting production variances, assisting the team in identifying causes and solutions, and managing material masters. Key duties also include supporting month-end close processes, preparing key metrics, transacting and reconciling plant-to-plant transfers, and assisting external auditors with audits. Additionally, the Cost Accountant I helps with government surveys and censuses and undertakes other assigned duties and special projects.
