Requirements

• A confident journalist with a track record in broadcast reporting
• Proven ability to deliver under pressure in fast-moving environments
• Indepth editorial judgment with a commitment to accuracy, fairness, and balance
• A proactive mindset with the ability to originate stories and drive coverage
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across global teams
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving editorial priorities
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or a related field
• Minimum 7 years’ professional experience in journalism
• Demonstrated on-air reporting experience with strong editorial credibility

Responsibilities

• Report from the field, delivering high-quality packaged stories and live coverage to tight deadlines
• Lead coverage of breaking news events, providing sharp analysis and on-the-ground insight
• Generate original, impactful story ideas that reflect Al Jazeera’s editorial mandate
• Conduct insightful interviews with key voices and newsmakers
• Collaborate closely with field teams, news desk, output and planning to ensure seamless, high-standard coverage
• Contribute to daily editorial planning and future coverage strategies
• Produce engaging digital content for online platforms
• Work on long-form storytelling projects when required
• Represent Al Jazeera in the field as a trusted and credible brand ambassador
