This position is located at Tyrrell Prison Work Farm in Columbia NC. Employees in this class carry a caseload of offenders, which involves supportive counseling, conducting assessments, developing case plans, answering, and following up on offender questions and problems and making recommendations to classification committee for a male minimum custody. facility. Work under stressful conditions caused by direct contact with incarcerated offenders. Conduct continuous visual and audio surveillance of assigned work area. Prepare written reports and forms which accurately reflect information reviewed from various screens. Review, analyze and evaluate interventions and behavior data gathered from interviews, written documentation, and personal observation. Perform crisis interventions and routine counseling to include suicide prevention. This position requires basic keyboarding skills and the ability to learn and use the OPUS computer system.
