Requirements

1 to 2 years’ experience in accounting
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Solid organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills

Nice To Haves

Hotel accounting preferred
Experience with Sage 300 (Accpac) Accounting software
Experience with ProfitSword Hotel software
Experience importing and exporting data between business applications

Responsibilities

Prepare various financial statements, including Profit & Loss by working with the hotel(s) leadership
Respond to hotel requests and inquiries with the appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy while upholding business goals.
Prepare and monitor daily Income Journal entries
Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
Review expenditures in accordance with budgets
Monitor inventory levels and advise management of variances
Reconcile balance sheet accounts
Maintain fixed asset records
Assist with bank statement reconciliation
Assist in preparation of year-end audit schedules for independent auditors
Assist with NYS Sales & Use Tax and Hotel Occupancy tax filings
