Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years’ experience in accounting
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong work ethic and a drive to exceed expectations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational, time-management, and prioritization skills

Nice To Haves

  • Hotel accounting preferred
  • Experience with Sage 300 (Accpac) Accounting software
  • Experience with ProfitSword Hotel software
  • Experience importing and exporting data between business applications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare various financial statements, including Profit & Loss by working with the hotel(s) leadership
  • Respond to hotel requests and inquiries with the appropriate level of sensitivity and immediacy while upholding business goals.
  • Prepare and monitor daily Income Journal entries
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
  • Review expenditures in accordance with budgets
  • Monitor inventory levels and advise management of variances
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Maintain fixed asset records
  • Assist with bank statement reconciliation
  • Assist in preparation of year-end audit schedules for independent auditors
  • Assist with NYS Sales & Use Tax and Hotel Occupancy tax filings
