About The Position

Mpower Solar is a New York-based energy supplier and solar installer specializing in 100% renewable energy. Since our founding in 2009, our mission has been to offer sustainable, affordable, and reliable renewable energy options to customers seeking to reduce their carbon footprint. We service residential customers across ten States and are growing! Mpower’s success has been largely due to our relentless efforts toward developing our in-house sales staff and having them fast-track through the ranks and into leadership roles. We are hiring a Corporate Sales Trainer to own and lead our centralized onboarding program at our NYC headquarters. The Corporate Sales Trainer will be responsible for ensuring that every new rep leaves training prepared, confident, and aligned with Mpower’s sales standards and culture. The ideal candidate will have a drive to develop salespeople, and has a strong understanding of fundamental sales process. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and leading training programs that equip sales reps with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in selling residential solar energy systems. This role focuses on improving the overall performance of the sales force through onboarding and developing specialized sales strategies, such as canvassing and objection handling.

Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in Solar Sales (residential ) and, ideally, prior experience in training or coaching teams.
  • Training or Coaching Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and develop others in a structured environment.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the solar energy industry, including financing, regulations, incentives, and technology.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Accountability Mindset: Comfortable holding reps to performance standards and providing direct feedback.
  • Organization: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple training projects.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop Training Curriculum: Design and continuously improve a structured onboarding program covering sales theory, objection handling, canvassing fundamentals, closing frameworks, and company process.
  • Onboarding & Training Sessions: Facilitate new hire orientation and lead workshops, seminars, and role-playing exercises to build product knowledge and sales skills.
  • Coaching & Development: Provide ongoing coaching, including conducting field ride-alongs or shadowing sales calls to observe performance and offer feedback.
  • Technical Knowledge Transfer: Educate sales staff on solar PV systems, inverters, storage solutions, financing options, and environmental benefits.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor trainee progress and key sales metrics (e.g., closing rates, average transaction value) to evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives.
  • Material Creation: Produce educational materials, including sales scripts, slide decks, and manuals.
