About The Position

U.S. Bank, through its wholly owned subsidiary Elavon, is expanding its SMB Sales team in the UK and recruiting for Sales Specialist roles. Elavon is committed to building platforms and ecosystems that help over 1.5 million customers globally achieve financial goals by providing tailored payment solutions. The role's purpose is to undertake the sale of merchant services to small and medium-sized businesses within Elavon’s SMB segment through new business development activities, including prospecting, outbound outreach, and in‑person engagement. The team will initially focus on London, the South East, and South West of the UK, with other geographical territories also available.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year Experience in Merchant Services (or Financial Services sector).
  • Experience of Self-Generating sales/prospects.
  • Hold a valid UK driver’s license.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • An influential and highly effective communicator (verbal/non-verbal/written) with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to accept change and the ability to maintain effectiveness in a changing environment.
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills.
  • Interested in learning about the Elavon business and has a general ‘can-do’ attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business sales within Elavon’s SMB segment through self‑sourced opportunities and partner‑led referrals.
  • Self‑generate pipeline through prospecting, outbound sales activity, and leveraging existing professional networks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with lead and referral partners to consistently source new business opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial engagement through to deal closure, selling a range of acquiring services and payment solutions.
  • Achieve agreed new customer acquisition and revenue targets, which are the primary measures of success for this role.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline activity and forecasting in line with internal sales processes.
  • Act as a self‑starter with strong ownership of personal performance, continuously identifying new opportunities and routes to market.
