About The Position

Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation (UIC) is seeking a Corporate Recruiter II to support UIC and its Alaska-based subsidiaries by managing the full-cycle recruitment process to attract, evaluate, and hire qualified individuals. This position partners closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, develop sourcing strategies, and ensure a positive candidate experience from application through onboarding. The Corporate Recruiter II plays a key role in aligning talent acquisition activities with UIC's business objectives, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, and supporting UIC's values and commitment to its shareholders. This role also assists with preparing offer letters, coordinating pre-employment requirements, and facilitating onboarding activities to support a smooth transition for new hires. In addition, the position works closely with the Shareholder and Workforce Development manager to help identify and support employment opportunities for UIC Shareholders and their descendants.

Requirements

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks across departments to ensure timely completion of recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Skilled in using spreadsheets and tracking tools to monitor hiring activity and onboarding progress.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with managers and candidates.
  • Knowledge of full-cycle recruiting practices, principles, and techniques.
  • Understanding of applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Ability to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies for technical and professional positions.
  • Strong relationship management and customer service skills when working with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and prior experience with ATS systems, preferably iCIMS.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Commitment to teamwork, integrity, and alignment with UIC's mission and corporate values.
  • Bachelor’s degree Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of recruiting experience, preferably in a corporate or government contracting environment.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience using creative sourcing methods to identify and attract qualified candidates.
  • Experience with one or more Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong grammar and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with hiring managers and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • All employees must pass Non-DOT pre-employment drug screening and follow all Non-DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program guidelines and requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Holds active Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Certified Internet Recruiter (CIR), or Professional Recruiter Certification (PRC).
  • Experience with iCIMS applicant tracking software.
  • Knowledge of Alaska Native Regional or Village Corporation environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process to meet staffing goals and established timelines.
  • Participate in career fairs and community events to promote UIC and its Alaska-based subsidiaries as an employer-of-choice.
  • Partner with hiring managers to review staffing needs, clarify position requirements, and develop effective recruiting strategies.
  • Maintain consistent communication with hiring managers regarding candidate progress and requisition status.
  • Ensure all recruiting activities comply with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Create and implement sourcing strategies to attract active and passive candidates through job boards, networking, employee referrals, and industry events.
  • Screen and evaluate candidates for experience, skills, and alignment wtih UIC's values and organizational culture.
  • Schedule interviews, gather hiring manager feedback, and facilitate timely communication throughout the process.
  • Conduct pre-employment reference checks and assist with preparing and extending offers of employment.
  • Maintain hiring and onboarding tracker to monitor pre-employment activities through new hire onboarding.
  • Work with HR team and subsidiary staff to ensure smooth new hire onboarding experience.
  • Contribute to HR and recruiting initiatives by supporting reporting, monitoring key metrics, and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
