JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES A Corporate Pilot for POET, LLC is responsible for the safe, professional and efficient transport of company personnel, customers, guests and equipment in company owned aircraft on domestic and international flights. The Pilot in Command (PIC) has full responsibility for the safety of the aircraft and occupants.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science Degree (Aviation Preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • First Class Medical and Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with Multi-Engine Rating issued by the FAA.
  • 1,500 hours and at least 500 hours in Multi-Engine aircraft (Jet and Single Pilot Operation experience preferred).
  • Current Passport, Driver’s License and FCC License.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability and willingness to learn new software applications.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change.
  • This position is largely self-directed and requires a good understanding of company policy, procedures, and values.
  • In this role, you’ll be asked to drive a POET vehicle. A motor vehicle record check will be conducted during the preemployment process and yearly thereafter.
  • Flight Duties may include weekends, holidays and off hours as the business needs dictate. Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
  • High Density Airport, Single Pilot Operations in all types of weather.
  • Long periods of sitting at airports and in aircraft flight decks with exposure to bright sunlight.

Responsibilities

  • Pilot the aircraft as Pilot in Command (PIC) and/or Second in Command (SIC) during two pilot operations and/or Pilot in Command during Single Pilot Operations to transport company personnel, equipment and/or supplies under Day, Night, Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).
  • Operate the aircraft and equipment in all applicable situations in accordance with Aircraft Manufacturer Limitations, FAA, ICAO and Company Policies.
  • Conduct all flights in accordance with all FAA, ICAO and Company Policies.
  • Exercise extreme care and judgment at all times while being alert for abnormal and emergency situations and adverse weather conditions that may arise. The Pilot in Command will determine the appropriate course of action to ensure the safety of passengers and company property.
  • Obtain all applicable weather information, Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) and Temporary Flight Restrictions for points of departure, destination, intermediate stops and alternates on the route of flight to ensure safety and then file appropriate flight plans with the FAA.
  • Compute aircraft performance and weight and balance data in accordance to the conditions of the flight and ensure that the aircraft limitations are not exceeded.
  • Coordinate with scheduling personnel and/or lead passengers regarding changes to planned itinerary because of weather, airport or passenger changes.
  • Complete pre-flight inspection of the aircraft to include all consumables such as aircraft amenities, fuel, oil, hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, anti-icing fluid and tire pressure to ascertain adequate quantities. Ascertain that all normal and emergency supplies and equipment are placed on board. Determine that the aircraft is airworthy and prepared for flight in accordance with all FAA, ICAO and Company Policies.
  • Monitor and ensure the proper service, storing and protection of the aircraft at home base and away from home base.
  • Supervise the loading of passengers, baggage and equipment.
  • Acquaint all passengers with the use of aircraft cabin equipment and emergency procedures. Acquaint all passengers with the location of aircraft beverages, snacks and amenities. Address all passenger needs and comfort. This includes, but is not limited to adjusting cabin temperature, obtaining catering, assisting with baggage and arranging surface transportation.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and confidentiality with passengers while maintaining a friendly atmosphere.
  • Conduct post-flight inspection of the aircraft and report malfunction and operating data to the Chief Mechanic. Complete and file FAA records and reports as appropriate. Complete the aircraft flight log and maintain personal flight log and records.
  • Perform post-flight cleaning and restocking of the aircraft as well as general cleaning of hanger and office facilities.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge base of FAA rules and regulations, aircraft operations and systems, air traffic control procedures. Study current safety developments, techniques, and procedures in the aviation industry and participate proactively in safety training. Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times. Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community.
