Position Overview: The International Captain reports to the Chief Pilot and is ultimately accountable for the safe, secure, and compliant operation of company aircraft. This role requires disciplined adherence to company policies, manufacturer procedures, and all applicable regulatory requirements, while actively leading Safety Management System (SMS) practices, identifying and mitigating operational risk, and fostering a culture of professionalism, communication, and continuous safety improvement among the flight crew.

Requirements

  • Unrestricted FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with airplane multiengine class rating.
  • Current FAA First‑Class Medical Certificate.
  • FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RR).
  • Valid passport and any required travel documents allowing unrestricted international travel, including the ability to exit and re‑enter the United States, and legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) English Language Proficiency.
  • Ability to travel globally without restriction, including compliance with all international entry and vaccination requirements.
  • Documented Pilot in Command (PIC) experience in international flight operations.
  • Proven senior‑level leadership skills with the ability to command and lead flight crews during complex international flight operations.
  • Strong business acumen supported by advanced organizational, analytical, and strategic problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, including the ability to engage effectively with global stakeholders, regulators, and operational partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage highly complexity operational and technical challenges, including international regulatory environments, diverse operating conditions, and time‑critical decision‑making.
  • Ongoing engagement with global aviation industry best practices, international operating standards, and advancements in aircraft systems and technology.
  • Completion of advanced, aircraft‑specific operational training with experience applying that training in international operations.
  • High proficiency with flight operations technology, data systems, and business applications used in global aviation environments.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to develop self and peers while reinforcing safety, professionalism, and standardization.
  • A team‑first leadership mindset that emphasizes collaboration, cultural awareness, safety leadership, and shared accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of international operational aviation experience (civil, military, or government), including operation of large‑cabin business jets.
  • At least 3,000 hours of total documented flight time.
  • Gulfstream GVII type rating.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict compliance with all standards established by the company, aircraft manufacturers, and applicable regulatory authorities.
  • Actively participate in and support the department’s Safety Management System (SMS), including hazard identification, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers, representing the company with professionalism at all times.
