The Corporate Nurse Educator will develop, implement, and oversee nursing education and training programs across the organization to ensure staff competency, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care. This role will collaborate with clinical leadership to assess training needs, create educational materials, and provide ongoing support to nursing teams. This role will will manage and optimize the use of healthcare information systems to support nursing operations and improve patient care delivery. The Corporate Nurse Educator will also evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and drive continuous improvement in nursing practices and care delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the specific functional area (e.g., HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Operations, etc.).
  • Demonstrated success in applying function-specific skills (e.g., employee relations for HR, financial reporting for Finance, or sales strategy for Sales) is required.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry-specific regulations, compliance standards, and best practices may be required, particularly for roles in highly regulated functions like HR and Finance.
  • Relevant industry certifications based on the role (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP, CPA, etc.).
  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved), if role is located in a correctional facility.

  • Experience in healthcare, correctional healthcare, or a regulated industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide training and education for new and existing staff, ensuring clinical competencies are met.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of clinical competencies and training programs for staff.
  • Participate in post-orientation competency validations and testing for new staff.
  • Track and document staff training progress, competencies, and testing to ensure completion of training plans.
  • Assist site leadership teams with annual competencies, ongoing training, and educational initiatives.
  • Conduct site audits of policies, procedures, and clinical practices to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Identify educational needs at the site level and offer support in meeting those needs.
  • Support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives as needed.
  • Serve as a mentor to staff, identifying growth opportunities and providing educational guidance.
  • Foster critical thinking and professional development among nurses, promoting a culture of lifelong learning.
  • Stay up to date with trends and advancements in nursing and healthcare education.
  • Promote a commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning within the nursing team.
  • Design, develop, and implement informatics solutions, data structures, and decision-support systems to optimize patient care and healthcare operations.
  • Support the implementation and coordination of EMR/EHR systems, ensuring seamless integration into daily workflows.
  • Support end-users in EMR/EHR systems, providing technical assistance and troubleshooting non-complex issues.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, correctional healthcare standards, and institutional guidelines in the use of clinical technology and data management.
  • Assist in reviewing, interpreting, and implementing policies related to EMR/EHR processes, ensuring alignment with regulatory and contract requirements.
  • Represent the needs of the correctional healthcare community, advocating for client requirements in the context of EMR/EHR solutions.
  • Participate in audits to assess staff training needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for new and existing staff.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and technology adoption, contributing to the continuous improvement of the correctional healthcare environment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
