About The Position

Atlantic Union’s Enterprise Internship Program is a professional development opportunity for local college students to gain practical work experience, helping them become better prepared to enter the strategic sourcing industry post‑graduation. Throughout the program, students build professional networks and receive training and mentoring. As a Procurement Intern, you’ll have the chance to help Atlantic Union shape the future and deliver winning results in an exciting and dynamic time. During our 10 weeks, paid summer program, you’ll experience on-the-job training, access to mentors, planned social events with other Atlantic Union interns and educational opportunities. Position Accountabilities The Intern will be responsible for assisting the team in different procurement processes while analyzing the current process and making recommendations for improving efficiency. The intern will also have the opportunity to: Assist with strategic sourcing initiatives across various categories, developing an understanding of tools that guide value optimization, cost/risk management, and supplier capability analysis. Conduct process improvement and total cost analyses; prepare budget variance analysis on expenditure. Use strong communications with strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills to compel others to take action. Leverage your planning and resource management skills to deliver exceptional results for our internal clients. Acquire an understanding of the banking environment; especially as it relates to value generation, ethics and compliance considerations. Shadow multiple department members to gain an understanding of individual roles within the team. Note: Travel between local facilities, company paid, may be required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years’ old
  • Currently working on degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations or a similar degree
  • Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required, and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
  • Position is currently hybrid; in the office 3 days a week on Tuesdays through Thursday. There could also be a requirement to be in person on other days as tasks dictate.
  • Must be available to work a 40-hour week, Monday through Friday, within Richmond, VA.
  • Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments, professional and academic goals, and expectations of this internship position
  • Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references
