The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for creating and maintaining reports that provide insight into the progress and success of development projects. This role is critical for communicating with ownership regarding the development process, identifying potential risks, and advising on corrective actions. It offers an opportunity to gain a holistic understanding of all three phases of development (entitlement, construction, and management) through the analysis of project financials. The successful candidate needs to be driven and possess an entrepreneurial mindset to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrate a driven and entrepreneurial approach to work by taking initiative and seeking opportunities to improve financial reporting and project oversight.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule where hours may exceed 40 per week during busier times of the year to meet reporting deadlines and ownership requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
  • Background in data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining reports.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license preferred or actively in progress.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining reports that provide meaningful insights into the status of development projects.
  • Gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources, including project management software, databases, and other data systems.
  • Creating reports and dashboards that help stakeholders understand key performance indicators and other metrics related to development projects.
  • Collaborating with development teams to ensure that development requirements are met and that reports are accurate and relevant.
  • Compiling milestone reports as projects progress through the development process for submission to local and state housing agencies.
  • Developing and maintaining reporting templates, processes, and best practices to ensure consistent and high-quality reporting.
  • Communicating with stakeholders to provide updates and answer questions about the status of development projects.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to report data, including data accuracy, data completeness, and data consistency.
  • Attend construction calls and site meetings to capture real-time progress for accurate financial reporting.
  • Build a comprehensive skill set by following the progression of development projects as they move from entitlement and construction through the transition to management.
