Position summary The Financial Reporting Analyst provides financial reporting and audit support. This role supports quarterly and year‑end financial statement preparation, audit response activities, reconciliations, and federal reporting requirements to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Treasury requirements. This role is contingent upon award of contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting federal financial reporting, audit, or financial management operations.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing or supporting federal financial statements, footnotes, and audit submissions.
  • Experience with Treasury reporting, including SF‑133 and GTAS, and performing reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to research and resolve accounting issues.

  • Experience supporting federal CFO organizations or large, complex financial management environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with quarterly and year‑end financial statement preparation, including compilation of financial statements and footnotes.
  • Support financial statement audit activities, including responding to auditor requests and resolving audit questions related to DOE financial statements and disclosures.
  • Assist in preparation, review, and adjustment of SF‑133 Reports on Budget Execution for assigned Treasury Account Symbols.
  • Prepare and submit Governmentwide Treasury Account Symbol Adjusted Trial Balances (GTAS) in accordance with Treasury deadlines, ensuring all edits and validations are successfully passed.
  • Support Departmental elimination entries processes and related financial reporting activities.
  • Perform reconciliations of general ledger balances, trading partner activity, and related accounting data in alignment with Treasury systems and guidance.
  • Research, analyze, and resolve accounting discrepancies, errors, and warnings identified through reconciliation processes.
  • Support reconciliation of funding activities associated with current and future legislation, including error resolution and documentation of issues.
  • Document and catalog reconciliation issues and resolutions to support continuous improvement and mitigation of recurring issues.
  • Provide financial management operations support through research, analysis, and documentation, including standard operating procedures and reconciliations.
  • Support records and documentation management related to financial reporting and audit activities.
  • Assist with analysis and development of business process documentation, including process narratives and process maps depicting risks and controls.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of financial reporting and related business processes.
  • Support compliance with applicable federal financial management laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Assist with implementation of best government and industry practices related to financial management operations and reporting.
