JOB SUMMARY: Lead in the planning, development, and coordination of the safety and occupational health component of personnel, materials, equipment, and environmental issues to achieve safety effectiveness for the company. Ensures safety and environmental compliance with corporate policies and procedures, and state and federal laws and regulations. Administer the corporate training program to ensure that employees have received the required training to effectively and safely perform their required job duties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) Lead in the development, implementation and administration of corporate environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) policies and procedures. Responsible for the environmental, health, and safety training aspects of 21 CFR 1910 – Occupational Health and Safety Act, OHSAS 18001- Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, ISO 9001 – Quality management systems – requirements, 14001 and 45001. Ensures that federal, state, and local safety laws, regulations, codes, and rules are observed. Ensures that OSHA as well as other environmental and safety record keeping and reporting requirements are met. Monitors activities where accidents could occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment. Serves as the primary focal point on all environmental issues including regulatory compliance, Haz Mat training, hazardous waste disposal and documentation. Administers the workers compensation claims program; ensures timely processing of claims; evaluates accident reports to determine accuracy and completeness and to ensure adequate investigation; ensures that the corporation is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and develops accident prevention programs. Reviews accident reports to identify patterns of injury and to determine whether unsafe conditions contributed to the accident; advises departments of trends in injuries and proper safety procedures that may result in reduction of injuries; provides department with information that will aid in reducing accidents and improve safety. Coordinates the corporate safety program including monthly safety committee meetings, general awareness, OSHA compliance and other regulatory compliance in all US locations. Lead and assign activities of the safety committee by providing technical and administrative support. Track and schedule job required training Collaborate with departments in creating and maintaining training matrixes Develops and maintains the EHS policies and procedures for all sites to follow.
