About The Position

As a Corporate Development Associate, you will understand the process to take the lead on organizing due diligence workstreams, creating agreement approval materials, owning the financial model/valuation, and negotiating/executing the transaction with high-level feedback from executive agreement leads. You will demonstrate working knowledge of finance, corporate strategy, agreement execution, and product/technology concepts for a specific product area. You will use domain experience and pattern recognition to take and defend a point of view with agreement team members or sponsors, taking into account factors within the ecosystem and within Google.The Corporate Development team drives Google's worldwide growth by identifying exciting acquisition and investment opportunities across existing and future markets – and then working to make them happen. Consisting of experienced merger-and-acquisition leaders, investment professionals, scouting and strategy specialists, and integration experts, we're dedicated to identifying the business opportunities of tomorrow. We drive team decisions, lead negotiations, and help run post-acquisition integration and performance evaluation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting or venture capital/private equity experience in the technology industry.
  • Experience in Internet, communications, e-commerce, or cloud.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years of experience understanding and consulting on different financial models existing across the industry.
  • 3 years of experience working in a consulting or venture capital organization including experience with legal terms/procedures.
  • Experience building financial models and valuing companies.
  • Knowledge of Google products and cross-functional perspectives.
  • Excellent people management and communications skills, with effective business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Research industry trends, engaged landscape and internal product development efforts.
  • Identify, evaluate, and value acquisition and investment opportunities.
  • Develop ecosystem relationships and attend events to understand key trends/perspectives.
  • Drive management team decisions, and support agreement negotiations and execution.
  • Interface with Google product and engineering teams.
