About The Position

As a Corporate Counsel for Life Science, you will serve as Legal Business Partner for the Process Materials and Cell Culture (PMC) Franchise within our Process Solutions (PS) business. As the primary legal business partner to the Head of the PMC Franchise, you will participate as a part of the PMC Leadership Team and support the franchise, including Business Development and related marketing groups, as well as related strategic project teams. In addition, you will work on a variety of projects across the Life Science business sector working in a matrix as a part of the global PS Legal support team. As a member of the PS Legal Team, you will provide a full range of legal support for the PMC management and marketing groups. This will include acting as a key resource to the PMC Leadership Team on a variety of commercial and legal matters such as product market withdrawals and business development matters. You will also support certain Global Strategic Accounts (GSA), including drafting and negotiating various complex commercial agreements, and providing guidance to management on relevant legal and business matters. You will support exciting projects and new business opportunities for which we need you to find creative solutions. You will be assessing and advising internal clients on business opportunities and process improvements, identifying and mitigating risk, coordinating and leading outside counsel as needed, and training management, colleagues and internal clients on related legal issues and standards.

Requirements

  • Juris doctorate degree and admission to practice law in the U.S.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience working at large law firm or multinational corporate legal department, preferably in the Life Science Sector
  • You are curious, self-motivated, and work well both individually and collaboratively as part of a team
  • You understand Life Science matters and processes
  • You have enhanced experience with handling complex matters, portfolios and organizations including challenging commercial agreements and master supply agreements, and international business transactions
  • You can spot issues and propose a range of potential solutions within a reasonable risk profile
  • Agile team player with a flexible mindset and excellent communication skills
  • Work independently with guidance only in complex situations
  • Business-oriented with pragmatic problem-solving skills
  • Curious, and have a strong desire to learn about technology and products
  • Interact well with senior management and colleagues in a matrixed, global organization
  • Well organized and balance numerous matters while prioritizing the same on a day-to-day basis as needed
  • You are proficient in English
