About The Position

We are a fast-growing property management company located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, overseeing approximately 100 multifamily communities, primarily affordable housing. We are building out our financial infrastructure and seeking a hands-on, experienced Controller to lead our accounting team and support continued portfolio expansion. What You'll Do Oversee all accounting functions including A/R, A/P, G/L and property-level financials. Lead the month-end and year-end close process for multiple entities. Prepare and review GAAP financial statements. Manage financial reporting requirements for property owners and other stakeholders. Direct annual audits and compliance submissions. Improve internal controls, streamline workflows, and optimize accounting systems (RealPage). Manage, train, and develop accounting team members. Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, escrows, and lender reporting. Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and capital projects. Report directly to the CFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5-10+ years accounting experience (real estate or property management preferred).
  • Strong GAAP and affordable housing program knowledge (LIHTC/HUD preferred).
  • Experience managing an accounting team.
  • Strong systems background; RealPage experience preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA certification.
  • Experience in a growth-stage organization.
  • Familiarity with multiple-entity management.
