About The Position

As a member of Johnsonville’s communications team, you’ll work closely with other teams throughout the company to keep the organization’s 4,000+ Members (employees) informed about the business, as well as about opportunities and resources available to them. You’ll also have the chance to work with media to share news about the company and its Members.Position OverviewThe Communications Manager plays an important role in keeping our Members informed, engaged, and inspired. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, organization, and process—and who wants to make a meaningful impact on how we communicate across the enterprise. Internal communications are the heartbeat of Johnsonville. In this role, you’ll help shape how our 4,500 Members stay informed and connected. You’ll build structure, improve processes, and make our channels work smarter—creating a foundation that helps Members understand what’s happening and why it matters. Your work will directly impact engagement and help drive change across the business. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field required
  • Minimum five years’ experience in a communications, journalism, public relations or similar role, required
  • A clear and compelling communicator with top-notch writing and editing skills
  • Skilled in digital tools and intranet platforms
  • Organized and resourceful, able to juggle priorities and work independently
  • Tech-curious with a passion for learning and embracing new solutions
  • A planner who thrives on structure but can pivot when needed
  • Results-driven with a focus on delivering impact
  • A connector who builds strong relationships and partnerships
  • Adaptable, self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Travel: About 10% of your time

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain the structure and usability of Johnsonville’s intranet
  • Manage internal communication channels, including email newsletters and leader updates
  • Develop and oversee a content calendar and governance processes to keep communications timely and consistent
  • Write articles, blog posts, and create compelling PowerPoint presentations
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to develop and execute communications plans
  • Explore new tools and technologies—including AI—to improve efficiency and enhance communication delivery
  • Develop and execute internal communications strategies aligned to enterprise priorities
  • Own and optimize internal communication channels to ensure clarity, consistency, and engagement
  • Lead governance and measurement practices to improve communications effectiveness.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful messaging.
  • Support change-management initiatives by creating communications that drive awareness, adoption, and engagement.
  • Monitor communications execution and effectiveness, seeking feedback and driving continuous improvement
