About The Position

Position Overview The Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role within the corporate finance function, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, supporting the financial close process, and providing actionable insights to leadership. This role requires a diligent accounting professional with strong technical skills, a commitment to process improvement, and the ability to collaborate across a distributed, high-growth services platform that spans multiple partner operating companies. Reporting to the CFO, the Accounting Manager will support NexCore’s mission to provide robust shared financial infrastructure that enables partner companies to focus on operational excellence while maintaining compliance and financial discipline.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Oracle, NetSuite) and strong Excel modeling skills.

  • Required Travel:15-25% travel to partner operating companies and other required NexCore corporate travel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 - 6 years’ of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment (corporate accounting, shared services, or public accounting experience preferred).
  • Experience with financial close processes, GAAP standards, and account reconciliations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 products (Outlook, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with analytics and reporting visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is advantageous.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Sage Intacct or BuildOps strongly desired
  • CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Manage general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Coordinate and execute month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for audit and tax engagements.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions across partner companies within the NexCore platform.
  • Assist with consolidation of financial results from multiple legal entities and service lines.
  • Generate detailed financial analyses that support operational decision-making, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Assist with preparation of management reporting packages for executive leadership, highlighting key trends and variances.
  • Must be good with data and consolidating multiple data sources / ERP’s
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Document accounting policies and procedures; ensure adherence across the shared services infrastructure.
  • Support implementation and optimization of financial systems and automation tools.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, external reporting requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls or SOX-style control frameworks where applicable.
  • Work closely with operations, human resources, IT, and partner company finance teams to ensure cohesive financial operations.
  • Provide training and support on accounting standards and corporate reporting requirements to finance teams within partner companies.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
