About The Position

The Corporate Accounting Manager oversees a timely and accurate month‑end close; manages consolidations for domestic and international entities in compliance with US GAAP; leads intercompany accounting, eliminations, and foreign currency translation; and prepares consolidated financial statements with clear variance and trend analyses. The role maintains SOX‑compliant controls and documentation, drives improvements in close processes, tools, and reporting systems, supports audits with detailed workpapers and explanations, and partners cross‑functionally with FP&A and global accounting teams to resolve issues, ensure policy adherence, and strengthen financial accuracy and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.
  • 6+ years of professional accounting experience, including consolidation and month-end close responsibilities.
  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP; experience working with IFRS or local GAAP conversions, preferred.
  • Skilled at effectively communicating department or area issues and results within and across functional areas and conducting presentations of information concerning specific projects or timelines.
  • Able to gain cooperation of others.
  • Skilled at effectively leading a cooperative team effort and organizing resources to achieve team goals.
  • Able to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on reporting, experience with MS Office.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP and consolidation tools (Oracle, D365, Hyperion, etc.), strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees, including global employees.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail as well as critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages the end-to-end month end close process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • Oversees close calendars and deliverables across departments, ensuring alignment with corporate timelines.
  • Reviews and approves key close activities, including but not limited to: accruals, payroll entries, fixed assets, and intercompany balances.
  • Maintains SOX compliant documentation and support internal control requirements.
  • Manages the monthly and quarterly consolidation of multiple domestic and international entities in compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Oversees intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, profit in inventory, and foreign currency translation, ensuring completeness and accuracy (as referenced in consolidation responsibilities.
  • Maintains entity hierarchies, ownership structures, and mapping tables in the consolidation system.
  • Partners with international teams on local GAAP vs. US GAAP adjustments and statutory compliance (aligned with EMEA/Global close practices
  • Prepares and reviews consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and supporting schedules.
  • Provides month over month and quarter over quarter analysis to management, identifying trends and explaining key variances.
  • Ensures consistency in reporting and contribute to continuous improvements in close analytics and reporting tools.
  • Owns key accounting system processes related to consolidation and close; collaborate with IT on system enhancements or troubleshooting (aligned with consolidation system management).
  • Leads or support automation initiatives, financial system upgrades, and standardization of processes across global accounting teams.
  • Recommends improvements to accounting workflows to reduce close cycle time and enhance accuracy.
  • Serves as a key contact during quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Provides detailed workpapers, explain fluctuations, and remediate audit findings as needed.
  • Partners with FP&A on accruals, budget vs actual analysis, and financial review cycles
  • Works with global/local accounting teams to address process questions, resolve discrepancies, and ensure adherence to corporate policies.
  • Mentors and develops accounting staff; contribute to hiring decisions and role definition where applicable
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA, SOX and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.
