About The Position

Leads and manages the strategic direction for the Credit Card programs which includes expansion of the program usage and achieving cost reductions in making payments for the organization. Position works closely with Key Stakeholders to develop effective strategies to expand, administer and monitor the credit card programs, virtual and plastic. In addition, responsible for overall Administration and training of the corporate Purchasing Card Program and expense reporting tool, and the Corporate Travel and Entertainment Card Program, Action Team Generosity Programs, Business Development Program, Event Planner Conference Cards, ePayables Vendor Payments, and Corporate Gift Cards. Other strategic tasks and participation in projects assigned to support departmental objectives including category manager contracting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • At least 5 years credit card program management experience
  • Risk management, auditing and accounting knowledge/experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with all areas of the organization
  • Proven track record in negotiation skills and working with internal customers and vendors at a professional level
  • Proficiency in expense reporting tools, word processing, spread sheets, and email especially tracking and measuring program performance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the strategic direction for the credit card programs.
  • Develops the credit card program policies and administers those policies in an efficient way for the organization
  • Market the credit card program to encourage use of the program.
  • Expert in Thrivent's expense reimbursement tool providing reimbursement guidance to corporate credit card holders
  • Lead the selection process for credit card vendors and negotiate the contracts, drafting contract language and facilitating post contract vendor relationship management in the selection and management of Thrivent's suppliers
  • Measure, track, analyze and audit credit card usage taking corrective actions when needed by notifying managers, cardholders and code of conduct of non-compliance issues and/or improving on controls.
  • Determine trends and future policy/direction/controls.
  • Subject matter expert for charge card programs within the corporation, coaching and providing consultation to clients, resolve vendor disputes and drive procurement best practices across all divisions/departments for assigned category.
  • Decides best strategic approaches to promote and market the credit card program.
  • Decides on how to best manage and audit the program and any impacts to Thrivent's payment of the credit card debt.
  • Decides on efficient use of time to balance competing demands.
  • Work closely with IT to implement technology solutions and resolve problems that enhance the programs.
  • Other strategic tasks and participation in projects assigned to support departmental objectives including category manager contracting
