About The Position

2026 Creative Residency From June to August, you'll walk in stupid at the world's largest independent creative agency. From client briefs to creative concepts, you'll be strategizing with teams to reinvigorate advertising with the meteor showers of your cosmic mind. We'll give you the tools to fail harder and dive into the wormhole we call work, and fly with the wings you've had all along but never knew you had, at a place that's going to change you in a way that books can't. Brain time means pay time. The residency pays $22 an hour, plus overtime, a housing stipend, and monthly OMNY card. The Copywriter Resident works in creative partnership with an Art Director Resident to concept, create and produce effective creative deliverables. The Copywriter Resident is responsible for the verbal and textual content of these deliverables.

Requirements

  • Recent college graduate
  • Ability to submit portfolio of creative work
  • Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale for client and team
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • A proven track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations
  • Exceptional initiative, attention to detail and follow through skills
  • After hours work and overnight travel may be required

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Account Management and Strategy to understand client creative brief
  • Brainstorms with Art Director Resident to create innovative, ground-breaking concepts for print, OOH, radio, digital, and television that strategically deliver within the confines of client brief
  • Writes clear, persuasive, original copy
  • Submits ideas and discusses progress with the Creative Directors before making presentations to clients
  • Interacts with, presents to and explains creative concepts both internally, and to clients as required at all levels
  • Amends, revises or redevelops campaigns in response to feedback from the Creative Director or clients
  • Works collaboratively with Production and Account Management to ensure proposed creative solution can be feasibly executed within the time and budget given on the brief
  • Oversees campaign through the production stage to completion
  • Attends photo shoots to provide creative supervision and quality controls for third parties in the production process such directors, photographers, illustrators, and artists
  • Provides concept development for and participates in new business pitches as needed
  • Keeps up to date with popular culture and trends
  • Stays abreast of current trends in creative work produced within the advertising industry
