About The Position

NWHSU is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-centered Copy Center/Mail Room Technician to play a key role in supporting University operations. This individual is responsible for delivering high-quality copy, printing, finishing, and mail processing services, ensuring timely and accurate completion. This role involves handling all incoming and outgoing mail, operating and maintaining print and mailing equipment, and supporting University departments and customers. The ideal candidate brings strong customer service and problem-solving skills to a fast-paced, service-driven environment. Work Location: Bloomington, MN in person

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Experience operating high-speed copiers and/or multi-function machines in a self-directed environment, required
  • Experience operating a small Perfect Binding Machine, required
  • Experience with postage meter/mailing machines
  • Basic math skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, replace machine consumables, and coordinate service with vendors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to lift 50 pound boxes

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, preferred
  • Experience using Xerox copier D110 w/Centre Ware, preferred
  • Experience using Canon V700 color printer w/fiery commend workstation, preferred
  • Experience using variable data in printing, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process and complete on-demand copy and print requests for University departments, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion.
  • Collaborate with departments to confirm job specifications, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Operate and maintain copy center equipment, including printers, copiers, binders, cutters, laminators, and related machinery.
  • Perform print production and finishing tasks such as copying, binding, cutting, laminating, shrink-wrapping, and assembling materials.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of paper and supplies; communicate replenishment and equipment service needs.
  • Prepare and maintain billing and chargeback documentation, including departmental invoicing and coding updates.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance with vendors as needed.
  • Process outgoing and incoming mail and packages, including weighing, metering, sorting, and distributing in accordance with University guidelines.
  • Provide customer service by assisting with walk-up copy, print, and mailing requests and responding to general inquiries.
  • Support administrative functions, including month-end reporting and record maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
