About The Position

The Foundations Giving Officer Corporate is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with businesses and organizational/community partners on behalf of the Covenant HealthCare Foundation while being part of a team focused on making a positive impact. Duties include securing gifts through events, programs and partnerships such as sponsorships, matching gifts, and employee volunteering. This position is integral to the Foundation mission and will work within and contribute to a collaborative and upbeat team environment. Additional responsibilities include donor record maintenance, invoicing and processing payments, database reporting, participating in networking events, planning special events/campaigns, and customer service support to further the mission. Consistent with Covenant expectations, the Giving Officer will provide excellent customer service, conduct themselves in accordance with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission and Values of Covenant HealthCare, and always demonstrate a commitment to Extraordinary Care for Every Generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of completed education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years fund development, event planning, marketing, public relations, and/or business to business marketing.
  • Previous experience in donors or sales database preferred.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to develop and lead teams and committees.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert relationship builder and negotiator.
  • Strong efficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, et al).
  • Ability to work with databases.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement with sensitive information.
  • Ability to manage projects with diligence, attention to detail and within deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks at one time.
  • Punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Constant handling, feeling, hearing, tasting, smelling and near vision.
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, twisting, reaching, talking, midrange vision, far vision, depth perception and field of vision.
  • Occasional lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, crawling and color vision.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with corporate and organizational partners to secure gifts to the Foundation through various programs such as sponsorships, matching gifts, and employee volunteering.
  • Identify new opportunities, steward existing relationships, and ensure partners philanthropic goals are met.
  • Set and achieve targets, goals and objectives.
  • Work with department leadership to ensure proper donor recognition.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues within Covenant HealthCare.
  • Be an ambassador of Covenant HealthCare. Become familiar with the services offered and the needs that exist.
  • Develop contacts and identify potential corporate and business donors.
  • Solicit corporate support for special events.
  • Attend special events and donor recognition activities.
  • Establish contacts in the community with colleagues in related professions.
  • Develop professional working relationships with donors and volunteer committees.
  • Maintain accurate notes in donor database, generate reports, and ensure data integrity.
  • Enter and track Foundation expenses and project budgets, providing reports as required.
  • Maintain appropriate historical receipts and records.
  • Support the creation, maintenance, and documentation of fund records, history, and gift agreements as directed.
  • Administrative tasks may include answering phones, email correspondence, ordering office supplies, and processing vendor payments.
  • Operational tasks may include minor website updates, email campaign creation, raffle license support, event support and RSVPs, Board of Director support, creation of forms (electronic, online, etc.), and more.
  • Work directly with department staff, members of the community, vendors, administration, directors, managers, physicians and staff to further the organization's mission.
  • Protect donor privacy and adhere to HIPAA laws and requirements.
  • Arrange and oversee details related to assigned Covenant special events and meetings, ensuring Covenant is well-represented.
  • Provide ongoing support of other Foundation initiatives as directed.
