About The Position

The Student Success Coordinator promotes student success and increases student enrollment and retention via specific initiatives, while coaching students in need of additional resources with the primary objective to assist with making informed decisions concerning their educational goals. In this role, the Student Success Coordinator will also work closely with students with approved testing accommodations, students placed on academic probation, and students that have been conditionally admitted to Southern Nazarene University.

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience and/or relevant training
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Audits, monitors, and evaluates individual student academic progress.
  • Assists students in the development of an educational plan including choosing a program of study and/or clarifying educational goals. (Undeclared Majors)
  • Informs students about alternatives, limitations and possible consequences of academic decisions (e.g. adding, dropping and withdrawing from courses; change of program, major and/or transfer institution)
  • Processes progress reports for student-athletes, as well as students placed on academic probation.
  • Maintains administrative documents and confidential student records.
  • Monitors Early Alerts in Navigate360 CRM system.
  • Develops and promotes internal communication and resource sharing in order to benefit student success.
  • Participates in individual and team professional development, remains current with technology used to provide advising services.
  • Serve as the EAB Navigate360 Content/Application Administrator.
  • Develop and distribute key reports, e.g.,enrollment census, 15 to finish, intervention outcomes for specific student populations, etc., as outlined by the AVP for Student Success.
  • Identify students who are considered to have a higher probability of poor academic performance or non-persistence based on predetermined criteria.
  • Refer students identified as “historically underserved” to appropriate resources
  • Receive exams/tests (electronic and paper copies) and any supplies/materials (e.g., scantrons, calculators) from professors/departments prior to scheduled exam date and time. Distribute during scheduled appointments.
  • Preserving the confidentiality and accuracy of testing records and scores.
  • Schedule, proctor tests/quizzes/exams
  • Record and report on all appointments via Navigate360 on a daily and/or weekly basis.
  • Manage supplies of the testing center.
  • Arrange for assistive technology, texts in alternative formats, and other aides as needed in order to provide individualized accommodations for students.
