About The Position

The Coordinator is responsible for overall direction and administration of the District 196 Area Learning Center (ALC). Responsibilities : Lead and Manage ALC: Establish and communicate a clear vision and mission for the ALC Ability to implement programs and practices consistent with the 196 strategic roadmap resulting in a positive culture and climate at the ALC Set high expectations for student achievement with demonstrated outcomes Develop and implement a comprehensive educational program aligned with district, state, and federal guidelines Supervise all licensed and non-licensed staff Manage budgets, staffing, and allocate resources effectively Instructional Leadership: Guide and support teachers in developing effective curriculum and culturally responsive instructional methods focused on meeting the unique needs of ALC students Conduct regular classroom observations, provide feedback, and promote professional growth, providing clear and timely documentation through the TDE/PAS process Support licensed and support staff in efforts to utilize data to track student progress Culture and Climate: Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment that is safe, orderly and conducive to student success Develop and implement strategies to build a strong sense of community among students, staff and families Collaborate with programs and departments that share space within the Silver Bell Learning Center Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents and the broader community Build strong relationships with community partners and leverage community resources to support student learning Collaborate with district high schools to support transitions between schools Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data to monitor student progress, identify areas of need and make informed decisions about instruction and programming Develop and maintain data-driven systems for enrollment, course registration, and successful course completion Lead an on-going school continuous improvement plan, collaborating with other District 196 administrators

Requirements

  • Minnesota K-12 Principal License
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to build trust and positive relationships with students, staff and families from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Experience developing and delivering quality professional development
  • Commitment to equity and cultural competence with a focus on success and a growth mindset for students, families and staff

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Educational Administration or related field preferred
  • Minnesota teaching license
  • Experience and Knowledge of the unique needs of ALC students.
