About The Position

The Licensing Coordinator for school-age Discovery Link and early childhood education Little Links programming is responsible for ensuring compliance with Denver Public Schools policies and Colorado State licensing requirements related to business activities, special projects, and the management of complex issues within the Extended Learning Care Site (ELCS) department. This role includes overseeing operational procedures to meet licensing standards and supporting program quality. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Child Development or relevant field or Qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher or School-Age Site Director, Level 2 Early Child Professional Credential 3.0 (Expertise: Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field)
  • 2+ years related experience working within school-age or child care licensed programs in the State of Colorado
  • Valid Driver's License and/or reliable transportation are required for this position
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Google Suites
  • Effective time management and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effectively handle multiple demands and competing deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree Expertise: Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or relevant field
  • 1+ year of regulatory experience
  • Qualified as a School-Age or Child Care Center Director or Degree in Early Childhood Development or Related Child

Responsibilities

  • Performs site audits for a safety and quality programming lens.
  • Is responsible for supporting the Licensing Manager with responses and compliance needs for any regulatory violations and on-going, proactive site compliance.
  • Ensure timely processing of licensing requirements, including state-required position qualifications to successfully onboard new employees and included but not limited to assist with internal position promotions and job transfers and/or changes.
  • Responsible for keeping children's records, staff files, and internal processes in compliance with state licensing.
  • Monitor state licensing requirements and ensure communication of any changes regarding compliance to all pertinent individuals.
  • Responsible for assisting with presenting and developing content for ongoing staff training, including New Employee Orientation.
  • Facilitate training on licensing and department requirements and internal auditing processes.
  • Efficiently maintain individual ELCS personnel files and database to include licensing, background checks, state and Denver Public Schools mandatory training, and other pertinent information in accordance with state licensing regulations, district policies, and Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA) guidelines.
  • Efficiently and effectively communicate with Program Supervisors, Managers, and other department leadership.
  • Act as primary liaison with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood and Extended Learning Department in assisting with or in the absence of the Licensing Manager.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
