Coordinator, Job Readiness training (JRT) Unit: YSD Programs Department: Youth Development Reports to: Program Manager, Youth Development; Senior Director, Youth Services Classifications: Exempt, F.T. (YSD) Essential Functions: % Time Role Description 65% Contractual Obligations 1. Serve as a primary point of contact for HMI members and staff seeking workforce and youth development resources, including job opportunities, training programs, community partners, and career support aligned with member goals. 2. Develop, cultivate, and maintain relationships with community employers, agencies, and corporate partners to identify and secure internship, externship, and job placement opportunities for youth. 3. Coordinate and facilitate workforce programming, including job readiness workshops, career fairs, trainings, and partner-led activities, ensuring alignment with the workforce needs of LGBTQIA+ youth. 4. Design and facilitate workshops on job search strategies, résumé and cover letter development, interview preparation, workplace professionalism, and essential employability skills. 5. Lead and manage 6–8 week internship cycles that are responsive to labor market trends and the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ youth, including tracking participation, progress, and outcomes. 6. Connect participants to appropriate education, training, employment, and supportive services, providing individualized guidance and referrals as needed. 7. Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing coaching and support to promote retention, skill development, and success in internships and job placements. 8. Coordinate logistics for workforce and youth development activities by identifying space, dates, and times; procuring activities and partner involvement; disseminating materials before and after events; and ensuring accurate attendance tracking in Salesforce in collaboration with the data team. 9. Coordinate internally with HMI staff and externally with consultants and partners to organize job readiness trainings and internship opportunities. 10. Oversee consultant- and volunteer-led workshops and trainings by guiding external partners through program expectations, reviewing contracts and tax documentation, facilitating cultural competency trainings, managing payment requests, and ensuring quality program delivery. 11. Track consultant deliverables and manage stipends for youth participating in consultant-led internships and trainings. 12. Conduct labor market research to identify high-growth industries, in-demand skills, certifications, and career pathways that expand employment opportunities for LGBTQIA+ Youth of Color, including TGNC individuals. 13. Research and establish partnerships with consultants, employers, and certification providers to enhance participants' access to hard skill development and industry-recognized credentials. 14. Support member career exploration efforts by disseminating occupational information, developing career preparation and professional development curricula, and facilitating job readiness and skill-building workshops. 15. Provide one-on-one career coaching during office hours to assist youth with career planning, job searches, and creation of employment materials. 1. Work collaboratively with the Program Manager of Youth Development to support other Team programming – Academic Achievement/HSE Case Manager and College-Prep Services 2. Participate in supervision, team meetings, internal/external meetings for staff development and support to clients. 15% Programmatic Direct Service Work closely with other HMI departments and staff to support ongoing programs and services 1) Outreach and engage youth during Program Common Hours (3:30pm – 7:30pm). 2) Assist in the facilitation of Youth Development groups and programming, as needed. 3) Perform general staff duties, such as Café duty, general event set-up/breakdown, etc. 4) Participate and assist with general HMI agency-wide events. 20% Administrative Duties 1. Assist in achieving all measurement outcomes for the members, and provide support in evaluation of interventions and program. 2. Report and track youth member enrollment/activities and contractual requirements, and prepare reports and paperwork requested as needed by agency or funders. a) Maintain client level data, including follow-up notes and referral logs. b) Maintain group level documentation, including sign-in sheets and session summaries. c) Document, code, and enter data for program analysis. d) Submit all necessary documentation to Data Coordinator(s). As needed Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
