About The Position

The On-the-Job Training (OJT) Coordinator is responsible for designing, coordinating, and supervising structured work-based learning opportunities for members participating in Foundation for Recovery’s recovery housing and employment services programs. This position ensures members gain meaningful hands-on training in our Recovery Clubhouse social enterprises — including the thrift store, café, and janitorial services — to build workforce skills, support long-term employment, and foster recovery capital. Reporting to the Recovery Services Director, the OJT Coordinator collaborates closely with housing and employment staff to create individualized training plans, supervise daily work activities, provide coaching and feedback, and track participant progress. The ideal candidate will have experience in workforce development, social enterprise operations, and supporting individuals in recovery or other vulnerable populations.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in workforce development, behavioral health, social services, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in job training coordination, workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, or social enterprise operations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to juggle multiple work sites and schedules.
  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills with the ability to support and motivate individuals in recovery.
  • Knowledge of basic retail, café/food service, and janitorial operations.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and use data systems (case management, Google Workspace, or Microsoft OIice).
  • Comfortable working in a peer-based, recovery-oriented environment.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Valid Nevada driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supervising or mentoring individuals overcoming barriers to employment (e.g. recovery, justice involvement, homelessness) strongly preferred.
  • Retail, food service, or facilities/janitorial management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain structured on-the-job training schedules and rotations across thrift store, café, and janitorial service operations.
  • Collaborate with recovery housing and employment services to align OJT activities with members’ career goals and recovery plans.
  • Create and update training materials, task checklists, and skill-building curriculum for work assignments.
  • Ensure the OJT program meets grant and workforce development requirements, including documentation of participant hours and skill attainment.
  • Provide daily oversight, mentorship, and coaching to members during their OJT shifts.
  • Model professional work behaviors and reinforce workplace expectations such as punctuality, teamwork, and customer service.
  • Facilitate weekly check-ins with each participant to discuss progress, barriers, and career next steps.

  • Track participant training hours, competencies gained, and program outcomes in the organization’s case management/data tracking systems.
  • Contribute to grant and program reports, including participant progress, completion rates, and post-training employment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure tools, supplies, and workspaces are ready for OJT activities.
