About The Position

Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC) is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Coordinator to provide comprehensive administrative and coordination support to our Human Resources Department. This role is integral to supporting recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits administration, personnel records, and compliance activities. The HR Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for employees, candidates, managers, and external partners and plays an important role in ensuring positive employee experiences and efficient HR operations. This position requires professionalism, confidentiality, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Important Note: This is a fully on-site position. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this role. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and data entry
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
  • Current AHA BLS (Heart Saver) certification required
  • Computer skills sufficient to utilize email, documents, spreadsheets, and basic project management tools
  • Ability to read, write, and clearly communicate in English (additional languages are a plus, but not required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scheduling and coordinating interviews and travel
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (Paycom experience a plus)
  • Prior experience in an HR or administrative support role
  • Experience working in a healthcare or highly regulated environment

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and travel arrangements
  • Support onboarding processes and assist with new hire orientation
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files and HR records
  • Process Employee Access Forms (EAFs) and Personnel Action Forms (PAFs)
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks and enrollment support
  • Track and monitor employee certifications, licensure, and training compliance
  • Support HR data entry and recordkeeping in Paycom and HealthStream
  • Respond to employment verification requests
  • Assist with employee engagement programs, recognition initiatives, and internal events
  • Support HR compliance, reporting, and audit readiness
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department and assist with special projects as assigned
