About The Position

Under the direction of the Director for Student Activities and Orientation, the Coordinator for Student Activities is responsible for organizing programs and services that encourage student involvement and engagement. The position will strive to connect students with campus involvement opportunities to enhance their overall student experience. This staff member will develop resources, programs, and systems that support the members, leaders, and advisors of student organizations. This includes supporting leadership development programs, campus traditions, student-led initiatives, and other engagement programs. This position will develop, implement, integrate and evaluate retention and student success initiatives in all programming. Looking to hire for January 2021.

Responsibilities

Coordinates, evaluates, and implements new and existing engagement, identity and community building programs.
Develops and coordinates signature events.
Serves as advisor to the Programming and Activities Committee.
Provides strategic support and direction for current and developing student organizations (including Greek Chapters) and advisors; through registration, accountability efforts, and enforcement of all University policies.
Supervises student staff in accordance with the University’s policies and applicable laws including, but not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Manages RamSpace (the TXWES Campus Labs platform).
Develops and assesses student learning outcomes for engagement, Student Organization, and Greek Life programs.
Develops and maintains appropriate files, records, presentations, and assessment plans to build events and monitor student information.
Serves on Texas Wesleyan University Committees.
Supports programs of the Coordinator for Orientation and Ram Camp over the Summer and the Director for Student Activities and Orientation throughout the Academic Year.
Assists in the publication of Student News Letter Ram Life.
Other duties as assigned.
