About The Position

Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a part-time Coordinator for Impact & Engagement to support the mission of Penn State Athletics and the Nittany360 program. This role will help design and deliver experiences that develop student-athletes as leaders, strengthen their sense of belonging, and connect their engagement to personal and professional growth. Reporting to the Associate AD for Integrative Human Performance & Strategic Initiatives, this fellowship position will contribute to a holistic, integrated approach to student-athlete development, supporting community engagement, leadership development, and student-athlete experience initiatives. The position is funded through the Big Ten Fellowship Program, designed to provide leadership development experience for emerging professionals interested in college athletics. The 2026–27 fellowship is a part-time role averaging 20–30 hours per week.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to engage and build relationships with diverse communities and populations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to foster and maintain working relationships with various athletic, University, and external stakeholders
  • A high work ethic, positive attitude, and a growth mindset are required to be successful in this role.

  • Evenings and weekends are required.
  • This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute student-athlete community engagement initiatives aligned with Nittany360 priorities
  • Develop and manage partnerships with campus and community organizations to create meaningful and consistent engagement opportunities
  • Design and deliver engagement experiences that promote leadership, belonging, and community impact
  • Connect engagement efforts to student-athlete development, collaborating with staff to align experiences with career exploration and overall student-athlete experience
  • Own the tracking and evaluation of engagement initiatives, including participation and impact outcomes
  • Support and contribute to storytelling efforts that highlight student-athlete engagement and impact through social media, recaps, and other promotional platforms
  • Contribute to unit initiatives and special projects, including identifying and implementing best practices in student-athlete development
