About The Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Community Education Coordinator will coordinate Mental Health First Aid trainings and all other educational programs. Key functions will include managing requests, scheduling, program tracking, and reporting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, direct, and coordinate all educational programs and trainings. Prepare and implement all aspects of MHFA Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners Support evaluation of all education training and programs Support the Education Team with coordination efforts for Community Education Events Prepare course materials via information available on instructor website. Compile local resources to provide during training. Adhere to policies and procedures related to MHFA trainings. Maintain MHFA Instructor Certification by meeting requirements of MHFA-USA. Other duties as assigned. Supervision to be exercised: Occassional Supervision of interns and volunteers. Education: Bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration/human services, or mental health required. Experience: Must have two years relevant experience public-speaking and/or providing trainings to various audiences. Must be a certified MHFA Trainer or willing to become certified. Knowledge of needs and service providers in region a plus. Some experience with program and/or data evaluation strongly preferred. Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Effective organizational community engagement, training skills and data collection skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks while working effectively as a team player. Provide excellent customer service to those seeking assistance. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, Teams, and other technology platforms. Abilities: Effectively interact and work collaboratively in a flexible work environment with a variety of constituents including CEO, board members, clients and family members or caretakers, interns, volunteers, school staff, and community partners. Ability to express ideas with clarity, confidence, and sensitivity. Must be able to maintain confidentiality involving clients in accordance with organizational and federal guidelines. Working Conditions: The work environment is representative of that which an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee must be available to perform the duties of the job mostly during core business hours (between 9 – 5pm, M – F), some flexibility with schedule may be available (evening and/or weekend hours).
