About The Position

This role provides support to the Baseball Communications & Media Relations department, which serves as the liaison between the media and the ball club for all team-related public relations, including interview requests, credentialing, baseball information, and the production of daily game information and other press materials. The base salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 based on relevant experience. Additionally, this position qualifies for annual incentive pay along with our comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field required.
• Working knowledge of baseball and statistics.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Sharp technical skills and aptitude for learning new applications.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Must be able work hours consistent with MLB schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Major League Baseball’s online credentialing system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, approve, and generate season and daily media credentials.
• Create media seating assignments in the press box for home games.
• Maintain the press box, including the distribution of game notes, lineup sheets, and other materials for home games.
• Contribute to daily pre-game notes.
• Compile and distribute post-game notes during home games.
• Draft, proofread, and editing press releases.
• Compile and send Red Sox-related news clips to front office and media daily.
• Direct daily media requests, including interview requests, baseball information requests, and credentialing.
• Provide office and administrative assistance as assigned by members of the Baseball Communications & Media Relations department.
