About The Position

Essential Duties: 1. Write, proofread, and edit multi-purpose content (print and digital) to be leveraged across the district. 2. Partner with divisions across the district to fulfill marketing needs for the district. 3. Assist Communications team with content development and user engagement via social media channels, including Facebook and Twitter. 4. Assist Communications team on district video projects at various points of the production process including story development, script writing, storyboarding, film scheduling, conducting interviews as necessary, and reviewing film for publication. 5. Manage internal communications and updates to faculty, students, and staff via Infinite Campus messaging platform. 6. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or a related field. 2. Two to five years of professional experience in public relations or communications. 3. Proven ability to develop, implement, and execute successful public relations campaigns. 4. Thorough knowledge of the concepts and principles of news, media, and communications. 5. Strong editorial judgement and instinct, especially around ethical and political awareness. 6. Effective oral and written communication skills. 7. The ability to produce high quality work with quick turnaround time, as well as the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. 8. Proficiency in copyediting, particularly using Associated Press Style. 9. Strong knowledge of basic office applications (i.e. Microsoft Office). 10. Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite. 11. Familiarity with content management software and social media authoring tools. 12. Proactive problem solver with strong project management and organizational skills. 13. Must be able to work independently and collaborate within internal team and cross-team settings. 14. Ideal candidate is a jack-of-all-trades who likes working on multiple projects and is particularly good at communicating in written form. 15. Exceptional integrity, commitment to confidentiality, excellent character, and strong professional reputation. 16. Ability to abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators. 17. Must be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work. 18. Ability to be present at the physical worksite. 19. Must perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting. 20. Must perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds. 21. Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.

Requirements
