About The Position

The Accounting Coordinator supports core accounting operations, including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. This role assists with day-to-day transactional accounting tasks, helps maintain accurate records, and partners with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate financial information. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow within an accounting function.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years of accounting experience (internship experience considered)
  • Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger support
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to follow established processes and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
  • Clear and professional communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Retail/apparel/consumer goods experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Blue Cherry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintenance of sub-ledgers
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for review by senior accounting team members
  • Help maintain documentation of accounting procedures and support internal control processes
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation requested by external auditors
  • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Operations, HR, A/P, and A/R teams to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Support maintenance of the chart of accounts and departmental reporting structures
  • Assist in monitoring and reconciling monthly inventory by location and updating the general ledger accordingly
  • Analyze purchase price variances and inventory discrepancies, escalating findings as needed
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP guidelines
  • Participate in system enhancements, implementations, and process improvement initiatives
