About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor, Adult Mental Health Services, administers, coordinates, and provides leadership for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The ACT team consists of a multi-disciplinary staff, providing comprehensive case management services with consumers who have a history of psychiatric hospitalizations and may have multiple service needs, 7 days a week with 24-hour availability. Services are provided on an outreach basis with persons living in the community and needing intensive outreach support. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the supervision of the ACT staff; monitoring treatment planning, clinical records and client services; providing direct services to program consumers, and acting as a community liaison. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field required.
  • State of Michigan credential required.
  • Minimum three years’ work experience with individuals with mental illness or co-occurring disorders is required.
  • At least one-year work experience in a lead position or progressively more responsible position required.
  • Leadership and good judgment skills required.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required.
  • May participate in a 24-hour on-call system which includes holidays and weekends.
  • Candidate will provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required.
  • Offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of an acceptable work history.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.
