About The Position

Assists in coordinating the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital’s overall performance improvement program; generates and interprets reports for PI initiatives and clinical programs; identifies performance trends; prioritizes and recommends improvements; monitors action plans in progress; provides ad hoc reports that focus on patient outcomes and hospital processes of care; works with the VPMA and Quality Director to implement the medical staff’s Professional Practice Evaluation Policy; maintains physician Quality files; administers links to national databases such as the CMS QualityNet and ensures transfer of information from the hospital’s third-party vendor to CMS and TJC; supports TJC readiness and other QM activities as assigned. Reports to the Director of Quality Management.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Alabama.
  • Minimum of three years in hospital setting.
  • Exhibits advanced verbal/writing skills in English
  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to work with all employees, department managers, and medical staff
  • Demonstrates ability to be flexible and versatile and to manage a sometimes stressful work environment related to the variety and number of tasks and assignments required
  • Commands basic computer skills
  • If PRN work will be performed in other nursing departments, completes RN competencies per Staff Nurse job description.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN or MSN preferred.
  • Performance Improvement and/or Quality Assurance experience preferred.
