Position Summary: Prepares meals for patients, hospital staff, and other guests. Maintains high standards of food production, sanitation, and safety. Follows standardized recipes. Responsible for meeting meal timeframes, maintaining equipment, and daily kitchen operations.

Requirements

  • Thoroughly familiar with cooking a variety of foods in large quantities using various cooking methods and seasonings.
  • Must have first hand knowledge of cooking characteristics of various cuts of meat and know names and contents of various types of dishes.
  • Must be able to make accurate estimates relative to quantities of food required and length of cooking time necessary to prepare and preserve nutritional quality, flavor, and appearance.
  • Some Patient Diet knowledge.
  • High school education preferred.
  • Minimum four years quantity food production experience recommended.

  • Culinary/Trade school certificate preferred.
  • Preferred ServSafe® Certification
