About The Position

Under the direction of Dietary Supervisor or designee, employee is responsible to be in accordance with applicable safety, sanitary, and hygiene regulations. Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products. Prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items. Cook and prepare a variety of food products including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, soups, breads, and other food products using a variety of cooking equipment and utensils.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in kitchen preparation and cooking for a minimum of 2 years preferred
  • Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test.
  • Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record.
  • CBHC New Hire Orientation (NHO) completed within first two (2) months of employment
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods. (up to 9 hours)
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all driving conditions.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift bags, cases and boxes weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environment for long periods.
  • Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
