About The Position

Looking for a job that combines teaching, adventure, and the outdoors? Spend your season at Greenland Point 4-H Learning Center, leading youth in environmental education, canoe trips, campfires, and community building. You’ll gain real-world experience, build leadership skills, and make lasting memories all while working in one of Maine’s most beautiful outdoor classrooms. Statement of the Job: The Food Services Supervisor will work with the camp director in ordering food, creating schedules, and making sure the kitchen is kept at Maine State health code standards. This position is part-time seasonal (mid-June to mid-August). About Greenland Point 4-H Learning Center: The 4-H Camp & Learning Center at Greenland Point provides environmentally focused programming for Maine youth through summer camp and school programs. These programs are designed to inspire outdoor fun, practical woods-wise skills, and hands-on conservation education. Participants may learn a new outdoor skill or activity that will increase their awareness and understanding of ways that we can live fulfilling lives and make sound choices while doing the things that we enjoy. Through these programs, our mission is to teach youth to be effective and caring citizens through affordable environmental education and fun nature-based experiences.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR equivalent (G.E.D.) AND some culinary training.
  • Three years of food preparation experience
  • Complete health screening and appropriate background checks

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience cooking nutritious and wholesome foods for large groups in a commercial kitchen
  • Understanding of food allergies/dietary restrictions and how to safely accommodate them
  • High safety and sanitation standards
  • Current ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work a demanding schedule
  • Flexible, team player
  • Training and/or experience in sanitation, food preparation and protection, hygiene, and record-keeping
