About The Position

A Controls Engineering Intern is responsible for all phases of engineering for Bastian Solutions Controls Division. The duties include are designing, programming, testing and commissioning. The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Programming skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • PLC experience with a class/course or previous internship
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel between 70-90% during the internship (US Domestic)

  • Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Strong ability to interact with computers
  • Ability to work with PLC.
  • A basic understanding of programming.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other controls engineers to understand the design and coding requirements.
  • Work with engineers on how to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Must have great communication skills. This will be paramount in internal communication as well as discussions with other engineers and
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain a consistently positive, enthusiastic attitude!
  • Keep an open mind; be creative with concepts. Encourage entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among others.
  • Anticipate problems and be able to proactively act rather than react.
  • Maintain office area clean and organized.
  • Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Works well with engineering and manufacturing teams. Pitch's in where needed.
