Role snapshot Design small-scale electrical circuits; test and troubleshoot PLCs, electrical, and electronic controls on production equipment. Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic circuits to restore performance. Install electrical/electronic controls by reading schematics and blueprints. Apply knowledge of electrical power and water distribution systems in a plant setting. Perform essential mechanical repairs to complement electrical work. Execute tasks from lower classifications and occasionally guide those team members. Dismantle electrical machinery; replace parts such as brushes and armatures. Install electrical equipment, then monitor for hazards, needed adjustments, and replacements. Read blueprints, sketches, and follow verbal instructions accurately. Lay out, assemble, install, test, repair, and adjust fixtures, apparatus, wiring, and new services—panels, breakers, and conduit. Mount motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures; complete circuits per diagram requirements. Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits and equipment with appropriate tools and test gear. Handle additional work as assigned by the Group Leader.

Requirements

  • Two-year Associate degree and 2–4 years of hands-on experience.
  • Computer literacy to locate parts and document tasks within a CMMS.
  • Comfort with long periods on your feet; ability to sit, use manual dexterity, stoop, and bend.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, including lifting at least 50 pounds for a baseline test.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug screen and background check
