About The Position

As a Division Controller for AFC, you will be responsible for handling Month-end Close/reconciliations/reporting, managing Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, tracking Key performance Indicators, Special Projects and providing support to the Regional business Partners. This position will report to the Corporate Director of Accounting with a dotted line to the Regional Vice President.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in accounting, finance, economics or general business
  • Track record of strong individual performance with demonstrated financial, operations and management talent and a desire to participate in a team environment.
  • Progressive work experience of minimum of 10 years in accounting and/or finance, along with prior Supervisory experience.
  • Base understanding of manufacturing job costing.
  • Capability to work with others, not only direct reports, to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence others through the employment of sound judgement and good sense rather than the use of authority
  • Highest standards of integrity, loyalty, honesty, morals and ethics
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems, such as Prophet 21 and Microsoft Dynamics Business Central. Requires work in multiple ERP systems.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks as required and multitask.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA, CPA or CMA a plus but not required
  • Previous experience of 1-3 years in industrial distribution, job shop manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment.
  • Previous Audit experience
  • Proven history of successfully managing the accounting and finance functions at multiple facilities.
  • Experience in integrating acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall direction, coordination, and development of the Accounting/Finance Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws.
  • Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP, including completion of all balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory, fixed asset records, and general accounting.
  • Lead manufacturing cost accounting. Evaluate manufacturing costs to calculate direct and indirect hourly costs.
  • Provide Key Performance Metrics reporting, perform in-depth analysis and explain financial results to Senior Leadership.
  • Focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Drive the annual financial audit for the division and provide information needed for tax preparations.
  • Provide financial analysis to evaluate divisional special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc., when necessary.
  • Interface with outside audit firms(s), banks, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies when required.
  • Provide a visionary and leadership implementation role on behalf of Finance to all departments in the region and support the Regional Vice President.
  • Drive the “bottoms-up” monthly, quarterly, annual, and long-term financial forecasts, budgets, and metrics of the company
