About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controller/Comptroller to lead our financial operations and reporting functions. This role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic finance professional with a strong background in mid-market organizations who can deliver accurate financial insights while driving process improvements and automation. This position offers flexibility with both remote and hybrid work options , depending on candidate preference and business needs.

Requirements

10+ years of experience as a Controller in a mid-market company
Proven experience producing financial statements by profit center
Advanced Excel skills (modeling, analysis, reporting)
Strong experience with automation and process improvements in finance
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

CPA or equivalent certification
Experience with ERP systems and financial system implementations
Background in a growing or multi-entity organization

Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements by profit center
Perform financial analysis to support business strategy and operational decisions
Build and maintain advanced Excel-based financial models and reporting tools
Identify inefficiencies and lead automation and process improvement initiatives
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
Partner with leadership to provide actionable financial insights
