About The Position

Join the Mennonite Village Team as a Controller We are a growing senior living community entering a major expansion and bond-financing phase. We are seeking a hands-on Controller to lead all accounting operations and serve as the primary liaison to our auditors, bankers, and leadership team. Your Mission: As our Controller, you will lead the Mennonite Village accounting operations. This role is ideal for a senior accountant, audit supervisor, or experienced assistant controller ready to step into a lead accounting role in a well-established, mission-driven organization with a strong accounting team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Audit leadership, GAAP expertise, and hands-on operational accounting experience
  • Criminal background check is required for new hires.
  • Mennonite Village is a drug-free workplace.
  • In addition, information may be obtained through the Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division (DMV), court records, and other states' data systems.
  • Fingerprints may be required as part of the check.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred (active license not required)
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in senior living, healthcare, real estate, or nonprofit a strong plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations: A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, month-end close
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements
  • Serve as primary audit lead and manage external auditors
  • Support bond compliance, debt reporting, and capital project accounting
  • Maintain internal controls and accounting policies
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Improve systems, processes, and documentation
