About The Position

Contributes to the organization by contributing to the organization by directing the accounting functions and financials for the organization while also managing the accounting group's day-to-day operations. This individual will work directly with leaders of all functional teams to assist in reporting, forecasting, and analyzing financial and operational results, as well as conducting analyses to support better business decisions. This role requires an individual who possesses a high level of energy, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, preferably in Finance and/or Accounting.
  • 7-10 years of experience in financial services; leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all the organization’s financial statements and cash management.
  • Directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports.
  • Compiles budget data and documents based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets.
  • Compiles statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.
  • Manages and oversees accounting department.
  • Verifies that entries, transactions, and accounts are accurately and properly consolidated and are included in internal and external financial statements.
  • Manages and improves various reporting cycles, leading the monthly forecasting process.
  • Works closely with leadership team on cash management and cash flow forecasting.
  • Plans and directs new operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Approves and signs documents effecting monetary transactions.
  • Directs the activities concerned with safekeeping, control, and accounting for assets and securities.
  • Directs the preparation of reports that outline company's financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and future operations.
  • Recommends changes and ideas to top management or Executive Committee regarding policies and programs.
  • Directs and manages company fiscal functions in accordance with federal, state, company policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Reviews figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records, using journals and ledgers or computers.
  • Coordinates the submission of tax forms and returns, workers' compensation forms, pension contribution forms, and other government documents.
  • Calculates, prepares, and issues bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
  • Calculates costs of materials, overhead, and other expenses, based on estimates, quotations, and price lists.
  • Other duties as assigned based on business operational needs.
